Cathy and Nam -Tradition and Wonder
August 26, 2009
Cathy and Nam are an Australian-Vietnamese couple whose colorful ceremony combined colorful -literally and figuratively- and sacred traditions with a touch of modern glamour. It was an exquisite pleasure to shoot this wedding celebration, with several grand ceremonial occasions, a massive reception and emotive location shoots.

A moving part of the wedding day was the ancient Vietnamese tea ceremony. The couple say that this important part of their family tradition was not only fun but a special highlight in their lives. “It is central in our culture to pay respect and show appreciation we owe to parents and family members. We will all treasure the words of love and thanks that we spoke to our parents on our wedding day.

Nam and Cathy really appreciated the presence of their photographers, Serendipity Image throughout their day, and the lengths they went to to understand their culture and traditions: “Every little detail of our ceremony was covered. Serendipity really understands our culture – our traditions have been observed and recorded, and just the way would like.”
The couple were splendid in a spectacular pleated red gown and pure wool suit respectively.

After the tea ceremony, the couple toured some favourite places. On the peninsula, the couple explored the maze beneath a sky massing with clouds to find corners for romantic photos. Serendipity shoots all their footage on the elite quality RAW digital format. Because it is customised in post-production, a skilled photographer can shoot rapid, high quality shots without stopping to adjust for light or focus. The couple can relax while all their intimate, candid moments are unobtrusively captured.

Nam and Cathy’s beautiful wedding album tells the story of this moving, lovely day: “We were very happy with the photos from Serendipity, there were so many outstanding shots, with vibrant tones and bright clear colors. The photos are very natural… We were very impressed with the level of detail and understanding captured by Serendipity image.”

Helen And Jim
August 26, 2009
Helen and Jim first met 8 years ago at a Melbourne nightclub. “We think it was Chasers,” Helen laughs. She was impressed with Jim’s moves and his charisma. Jim was equally inpressed by Helen, her warmth and vivacity, his eyes light up and they smile at the recollection of this instant attraction. It is evident in these photos how in love this couple are. you can clearly see the chemistry fizzing between them in the photos. It’s days like this that make us glad that discerning couples choose Serendipity Wedding photography.
With its beautiful atmosphere, lovely interior and a warm community feel, Helen and John were very pleased with their traditional ceremony at St. Nicholas; the Yarraville Greek Orthodox church. After a splendid ceremony at the Yarraville Greek Orthodox church, Helen and Jim celebrated their wedding at Riva in St. Kilda. They enjoyed the light over the water, and the sunset through the picturesque landscape of boat masts. As Jim said, it was “a real party, just what we wanted.”

The happy couple.
Helen’s elegant gown came from Raffaele Ciuca. She was most impressed by the huge range and high quality service. Raffaele Ciuca is very much part of the Melbourne establishment, having provided beautiful dresses for Melbourne brides for 53 years. Helen would recommend Raffaele Ciuca to her friends, as they provide some of the best range in bridal gowns as well as expert advice and styling.

Helen and Jim’s chose Chryslers for their wedding cars. Their wedding cars provided by 300 Chauffeur and Helen and Jim were very impressed by the excellent professional service and well turned out vehicles. It was an absolute pleasure to photograph these vehicles, with their flowing design and classic lines.

Helen and Jim chose Riva for their wedding reception because of it’s contemporary feel and proximity to water. They found the food to be superb and the relaxed atmosphere was just perfect for their friends and family to have a great time. The views were breathtaking. They coupled the natural grandeur of the ocean with a stunning city skyline. At night, the dancing lights in the bay were magical. By coupling old world class with modern technology and up-to-the-minute architecture, the venue offered the perfect ideal for a young couple to celebrate their wedding in style.
